Building a Tiny House Sustainable Community

Hello, My name is Debra Nixon of Healthy Empowered Living Solutions. In this New Year I will be working with my city of Palm Bay Florida to begin the re-structure of building coding and zoning laws to accommodate and allow Tiny Homes to have the freedom of either an RV park type commune or a privately owned land where the first Tiny Home Community can get under construction to include a plan to give back to our citizens. My passionate plan consists of taking 5-7 acres of property and allowing Veterans, Disabled, and or Homeless community members to live on an Urban Farm Community. My dream for this community is to include 8-10 Tiny Houses where the extern farm workers will live for 12 months in an agriculture setting. Recent post traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) research studies has shown that hands on work is key to decreasing these symptoms and working on an Urban Farm in the soil has proven to be very therapeutic as a natural treatment. The outcome of this program success can be copied world wide Since the average age of today`s farmers is near 70, this program is also going to create a new generation of farmers for years to come. The 12 month program can join forces with the State of Florida University of Central Florida Agriculture program where participants can earn an Agriculture Certification to include hands on education in sustainable food growing techniques of organic grow boxes, raised beds, rain barrel water collection, hydroponics, aquaponics, permaculture, natural pest control methods with herb & companion cropping methods, work composting, and free range chicken production which will be a sustainable community in using solar energy, and water collection systems for optimal best use of the land. This community will also have power from wind and solar technologies accompanied by free range chicken production. This is my Dream & Goal for the first Tiny House Community in Florida. Sincerely: Debra
